Brooklyn Young Filmmakers quarterly free email newsletter, the BYFC NEWS, keeps you updated on BYFC events and classes and on our progress in establishing a career guidance and networking center for jobs in film. It contains in-depth interviews with diverse film professionals on how they got started in their careers and what makes them good at their jobs. It also includes our recommendations on how you can ‘get your feet wet’ at different film-related types of events.

‘ASK US A QUESTION?’
Whatever level of filmmaker you are, teen or you’re just completing your first low budget feature film, you can send us a question about any phase of production and distribution. Brooklyn Young Filmmakers will send your questions out to our professional consultants.

‘SHARING YOUR FILMMAKING EXPERIENCES’
Send us a description of what went very right – or very wrong on your last (or first!) shoot. Or are you an aspiring scriptwriter who’s written the first half of a screenplay – and gotten stuck? Do you need words of inspiration? Or maybe you have words of inspiration to share.

‘FILM HISTORY’
Directors, actors, cameras, lights, sets, wardrobe, all these departments have changed continually since the early beginnings of film - how they organize their work and the tools they use. What is that history?

‘BYFC AT THE MOVIES’
The film industry makes a product – films, and if you want to be involved in the making of a product you need to study the product. You can also submit your own film reviews on new and classic films.
