***********************************************************
Today
many working class people are buying digital cameras, writing their own scripts
and shooting
their own films. It takes more than a camera and passion to make a good film.
Filmmaking is like building a car. You have to understand what’s under
the hood that makes cars go. Brooklyn Young Filmmakers “MAKE A FILM” Class
Series shows participants how a film’s engine is combo of having a solid
script; camera and lighting skills; creative production design; extensive pre-planning;
promotional and business skills; know-how in running a set; and great people
skills.
The BYFC “MAKE A FILM” Class
Series is also a great primer for skilled professionals (i.e. carpenters,
electricians, hair and make-up artists,
etc.) who are interested in crossing over to freelance work in film/TV/commercials
and want to understand how a set is organized, how to reshape a resume, and
where to look for work.
